Linking and Building Communities

Welcome to Family Support Network (FSN) Citizenship Support Classes, where education meets aspiration and community thrives. We are dedicated to providing exceptional face-to-face and online tuition services for individuals seeking to improve their language skills and prepare for A1, A2, B1, and Life in the UK courses, essential for achieving UK citizenship.

At FSN, we believe in creating an inclusive and supportive environment that fosters growth, development, and a sense of belonging. Our mission is to empower individuals by providing quality education and welfare services, paving the way for successful integration into UK society.

Our Objective

To relieve and combat within the United Kingdom and any other country the effects of poverty, social exclusion, isolation, and economic deprivation by providing services and establishing support networks for children, young people, parents, carers, families, senior citizens and individuals.

To build and strengthen family and community links and maximise opportunities for personal growth and development, economic independence, social competence, self-confidence and dignity through education, training and involving community and urban self-help and regeneration initiatives in the arts, technology, media, sports and health..

We have more information on all the courses and new services on the website; below is a brief update on our plans to work with new groups of people during this semester.

The A1, A2 & B1

The A1, A2, and B1 hold a special place in our hearts in the organisation's history. We can boast a 100% pass rate; during the last semester, eight students received distinctions. This credit belongs to the students who have worked hard to achieve this milestone and the dedicated teaching team.

Success is achieved by those who follow our strict criteria of:

• Attendance
• Listening carefully to feedback
• Practice

The A1 and A2 Visa extensions may undergo some changes by the government department. When this occurs, we will, of course, inform you of the changes.

The Life In The UK

The Life in the UK is going through the process of change, which means we will be receiving new information about what has happened in this country since 2013 to the present times; we are well placed for the changes and have written several questions on BREXIT, the Home Secretary or her officials will make an announcement in due course.

Registering Home Office Documents

We are also working with the Community Immigration Services, run by a highly trained team who will complete all relevant documents to Home Office standard at a much cheaper rate than the solicitors in the high street. They will be open for business once they receive the Home Office licence for approving documents for:

• Visa extensions
• EU citizens
• Applications for indefinite leave to remain.

Online Classes

We have noticed over the years that many people cannot attend our classes during the day because of work commitments or complicated shift patterns; with this in mind, we are introducing four Zoom classes to help reach those affected by work or family commitments.

We will deliver online classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:15 p.m. and end at 9.00 p.m.

We will have two afternoon classes on Saturday, 12.30 p.m. to 2.15 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 4.15 p.m.

You must register to get on the course, which will cost you £40.00.

All classes will be subject to demand, and a max of six people in each class.

The cost will be £8.00 a week for one hour and forty-five minutes. The price will be £96.00 for twelve weeks.

Once you have registered, you can attend any classes on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, subject to availability, without any additional costs.

Over the years, we have encountered thousands of people who may require several courses and sometimes years to pass their first exam. In such situations, we advise people to enrol on an ESOL course for beginners.

Volunteers

Some of you have volunteered for us and have helped several students pass their exams. Without the help of volunteers, some students will undoubtedly take much longer to achieve their goals.

We are always looking for volunteers to help those finding the courses on offer difficult. Our volunteers provide students with 1-1 tuition to help them make the best progress.

We continually seek volunteers who can deliver our courses and support our organisation. If you can spare two hours a week helping with leafleting or helping out in one of the libraries, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will provide fares for those not living within walking distance and lunch for those who leaflet.
